Aurora
Aurora Aksnes, born June 15th of 1996 in Stavanger and known professionally as Aurora sometimes stylized in uppercase in the form of AURORA is an Norwegian music producer and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves is an album released in May 2015 from Decca Records. It has received high praise from the music press and bloggers. Half the World Away - by Oasis to accompany John Lewis' Christmas ad as well as Nature Boy - by Nat King Cole is already two covers worth noting that the singer has created. Her name was also recognized from a post by Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her track Runaway. It was her birthday celebration. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was finding a keyboard within her loft and being intrigued by its sounds. Jan Oystein Aksnes' parents May Britt Aksnes advised her to use music for development of her own, not to earn money or for an interest. In order to do so she started writing her own original compositions. Alongside Bjork, she cites Leonard Cohen as an influence. When her mother told her that the songs she wrote were not meant to gain fame for her but instead to inspire people to see their own value and impact to the world, she started playing them on stage. At age 6 She began playing the piano. At age nine, she began writing her own songs. The family members didn't know about her music until she reached fourteen. Aurora isn't something she imagined as a child. Aurora is simply a writer who loves writing songs. According to her, the music she composes is the way that she feels everything.
