Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani-Peruvian Muay Thai fighter, mixed martial arts artist, and competes within the UFC flyweight division. She is older than her fellow UFC fighter and Former UFC Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko began her fight sports journey in the form of a Muay Thai Kickboxer and debuted at the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko won the tournament and defeated Suzane Miller in the finals with a one-sided decision. Antonina Shevchenko took home a second prize in 2007, with a bronze award in 2008. She also won winning gold in 2011 and won the title of 2016 IFMA World Amateur Muay Thailand Champion. Antonia began her professional career in 2003. She was the winner of her the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship in 2012 and the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship in 2016 and then the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships in the year 2016. Antonina fought Isa Tidblad Keskikangas in her final fight at Phoenix Fighting Championship. She won the fight via unanimity. Antonina Shychenko's professional MMA debut was in 2002, in the KFK cup of Kyrgystan in which she fought Anara Bayanova. She took victory via TKO after the first round and was able to take home two more fights in the WXF X-Impact World Championships, 2003. This gave her the record of 3-0 in MMA. Shevchenko had a brief break from MMA and concentrated on her boxing. Shevchenko made her comeback in 2017 when she fought Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko defeated Anissa Haddaoui in a unanimous decision. She was then able to defeat Valerie Domergue, at Phoenix FC 4, by the same decision. In 2018, she quit the tournament and started competing in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko beat Jaimelene Nievera during Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11 Antonina's improved strike technique let her TKO Nievera via knees in the body. Antonina's UFC contract was extended after this victory. Antonina was offered a UFC contract after winning. Shevchenko won the fight via unanimous decision but lost her following fight against Roxanne Modafferi by split decision. Antonina came back from losing with a win over Lucie Pudilova during UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler via a rear-naked choke submission. She was awarded the fight-of-the-night bonus. Shevchenko had a 1-2 record in her next 3 fights. She beat Ariane Lipski, and lost to Katlyn Chokagian and Andrea Lee.
